A few days ago Arctic Lapland Rally organizers published an event entry list, where 3 N5 cars from Lithuania could be found. A total of 103 crews will tackle one of the most demanding rally on the calendar – nearly 250 icy and snowy kilometers await competitors, which will be dwelled in Rovaniemi for an entire week.
Number 26 was given to Martynas Samsonas and Ervinas Snitkas crew. It will be the third time for them in the north pole rally. They will test a brand new Volkswagen Polo N5 car which will be driven by Samsonas’ son Kajus later this year. While Kajus will take exams in Lithuania during the event, Martynas will test the new car in proper conditions before the Rally Sprint event in Lithuania later this month.
It will be a debut in Rovaniemi for the #71 crew – Linas Vaškys and Laurynas Paškevičius. Their Škoda Fabia N5 was finished last year and made its debut as a course car in the last Lithuania Rally Championship round – Samsonas Rally Utena. So it will be the first competitive outing with the brand new car for Linas and Laurynas.
A few numbers lower – #74 Vilmantas Padegimas and Ugnius Vainevičius. Like for the crew above – it will also be a first competitive debut for Vilmantas in his Renault Clio N5 car. Also first time in a Finnish event.
